RELATIONS WITH THE PRODUCTIVE SECTOR
University research is closely tied to national production in goods and services. The web pages of the different schools display the great diversity among the productive sectors that contract with the UR for applied research projects. The areas of agriculture, pharmaceuticals, construction, textile industry, foods, energy, biomedicine, heavy machinery, have all called upon schools at the university through agreements with public institutions or private corporations.
The UR collaborates with the public sector (state agencies and public owned corporations) in many ways. As an example of this, the web page of a single university school have more than 250 contracts with private and public institutions including ANCAP (national oil company), ANTEL (national telecommunications company), OSE (national water company), UTE (electricity national company), ANP (the national ports administration), the national post agency, the Central Bank, the National Insurance Bank, the Supreme Court, the ministries of housing, of industry, of agriculture, of tourism, mayoral offices nationwide, etc.
